Meet Nicole

Hi, I’m Nicole, and I live in the beautiful Hunter Valley, NSW. I’m a proud bonus mum to two teenage boys and a fur mum to two adorable cats who keep me company while I sew. I run my little business full time, creating memory bears, keepsakes, quilts and other treasures filled with love and meaning.

Sewing has always been a part of my life. I first learned with my mum when I was young and later continued at TAFE, where I made and sold children’s clothing in a local shop. For a while, life took me in other directions, and I didn’t sew much—until years later, when everything changed.

In my 40s, I became unwell and was unable to work. One night, while scrolling TikTok, I came across a video of someone making a memory bear from precious clothing. Something inside me sparked, and I thought, “I could do this.” I asked a friend if I could turn her little one’s first outfits into a bear, and from the moment I finished it, I was hooked. That was the start of Wisteria Keepsakes.

For me, creating keepsakes is about more than sewing. Every item I make carries stories, memories, and love that deserve to be held close. I treat each piece of clothing with the same care and respect as if it belonged to my own family. Knowing that the bears, quilts, and keepsakes I create bring comfort and joy to families is what inspires me every day.
